Yesterday I did something very strange - I read history for 6 hours! It didn't help much because I didn't remember all the things at the test and now I'm a little scared. But life goes on and I have my geography test on thursday and I decided to get a good grade. It should be easy too because the topics we've had have been so simple. But I'd like to know that do you have any special learning tips? I would need some because I feel that the reading itself is just not enough!
I cleaned my room once again and now it's clean and tidy for a while. While cleaning I found that Chinese/I don't know sign which my mom gave me when I turned 10 years old. It had been lost for like a year, but then I found this little jewel case and there it was! I had thought that I would never find it. So now I'm wearing it with my cross because it doesn't have its own chain.
This weekend I've been trying to do some school work because I have so much of everything next week. My beloved exam week starts on friday but I have a test on tuesday and one on thursday, so don't get annoyed if I'm going to be a little lazy blogger. But when the actual exam week begins I'll have more spare time and maybe blog more.
I know that some of you aren't as interested in Asian music as I am but I decided to make a short post of my favourite artists. They are very well known and some of you must have heard of them, but I'm going to tell about them anyway.
01濱崎あゆみ (Ayumi Hamasaki) was the first Japanese artist I discovered and listened on the ~5th grade when I fell in love with that part of the planet. I used to be a real japanerd back then but thankfully I've calmed down a little. She has achieved a lot and during her long career she has gained a lot of records, become a fashion icon and modelled on many magazine covers - just to name a few. And we should not forget her amazing voice and powerful melodies and lyrics.
02 神田來未子 (Kumi Koda) is a singer-songwriter from Kyoto. She has won many awards, started the ero-kawaii trend and also her albums have been sold numerous of times. Actually Kumi is a little bit newer for me, I've been aware of her existence but for some reason I haven't been listening to her music.
03 パフューム (Perfume) is a Japanese electro-pop group from Hiroshima. It has become one of my favourite bands very quickly, I just fell in love with their music and music videos... and a little bit with Kashiyuka (the one on the left). Their catchy melodies can be playing in my head for hours and I always sing along even though I can sing like only one line correctly (for an example "chocolate disco").
04포미닛 (4minute) is a K-pop girl group from South Korea, consisting of 5 members. It's one of the few Asian artists that are on spotify which is the reason I found this band. Like many other Asian artists they mix Korean and English a lot in their lyrics, which maybe makes the music more popular around the world, but they also have a VEVO on youtube while many other Asian artists have only music video samples.
Well, yes, they're all females, but I do also listen to music performed by males too. Maybe that would need another post though. Any comments or other bands you'd like to recommend? Maybe I would finally be ready to go to sleep.
At the moment I'm trying to avoid doing my maths homework (I just can't like them), so I'm going to post you about the highlights of this week or something like that.
My very first pack of Kool-Aid which my friend gave me. I haven't tasted it yet and I'm not sure if I will because that stuff is a bit scary. And if I don't like it I've wasted that cute little package for nothing. And wouldn't that be horrible?
I finally started posting on my tumblr. I've had it for a while but I haven't had time to customise its layout and everything. I'm still a beginner but feel free to follow me and link me your tumblr blogs. And please, I don't want anybody to tell me that I shouldn't have mentioned tumblr here.
I haven't seen many Lady Gaga interviews, but all of them have been so great. This is probably the latest one and I love it especially when she defends the infamous Rebecca Black.
Yesterday something horrible happened at our school or actually near to our school but they were our students anyway. One of the 9th graders stabbed another student. Yes, you heard me right. My mom was freaking out a little when I told her about it and I was a little shocked too, because yesterday we were told that the victim had just fell at our scool's yard. But happily he should be okay now. It's crazy that 15-16-year-old boys do that kind of stuff.
I'm currently sooo obsessed with this song. Thanks to a lovely blog reader who sent it to me on spotify!
As you all have noticed, I edited the layout fo my blog yesterday and I've been happy to get such positive feedback! And if there's a thing you'd like to change, please tell me and I'll try to do something about it.
So, I decided to make a new layout and you can see the result here! I wanted to use more colours but this is probably the most colourful this blog is going to get... Somehow I always use grey so much. But tell me what you think and if something's not working properly, please send a comment!
I got that second hand denim shirt this weekend and wore it today - the only problem is that the middle part of it is a little too baggy for me, it just looks too big on me. But I like it though, so I'll keep it, maybe I'll grow bigger some day. When we went to take the photos the road was partly showing! Snow is finally starting to melt. The best news of the day, huh? Have a relaxing sunday, I'm going to do some research for my essay which is tomorrow.
Today wasn't any better day than yesterday but at least we went out, only to buy candy to be honest, but still. I hadn't done anything to my hair or anything and didn't look like a human but thankfully this is just a small village and nobody knows me here. Of course we almost ate all of the candies and chocolate we bought and you can try to imagine how baaaaad I'm feeling right now. I'm serious when I say I'm feeling like a crap. Tomorrow I must do some exercise. What weekend snacks did you have?
My music recommendation for this weekend is Scandinavian Music Group. There aren't too many of their music on youtube, but thank God we have spotify.
I'm going to be like a true alternative kid now because I'm not happy that it's friday. This has been like the most boring friday in ages and because I know my friends are partying it's even worse. My stupid problems. Oh well, tomorrow I'm maybe gonna go skiing or swimming or at least jogging, because I don't want to just lay on my bed all day. I have a small presentation on monday or tuesday and I'm actually a little excited about it. Our group's subject is deserts and we have planned to show some funny stuff! Another thing that excites me is that I'm getting more sure about what I want to do in the future. Well, it's been clear from the day one that I want to move out of Finland, but now I know what I'd like to study and where I'd like to work. But now I just have to hope that I'll get a summer job... SIGH
Too much school work and not enough energy, so of course I do nothing. Typical me. I'm also sad that I have nothing to post about to you but at the same time I'd like to write million posts a day. Another thing that makes me sad is the Fukushima nuclear plant but I was glad to hear that Lady Gaga's pray for Japan -wristbands have raised a quarter million dollars! Amazing. I added some links to my side bar too, it's an important thing. I'm also sure that because of the Fukushima's situation many other countries are going to try to be more and more secure with their own nuclear plants. I'm not a big fan of nuclear power but I can't do much but be happy when something good has been done with them.
Today's my like my favourite day of the week, because they air the Skins on Wednesdays ♥ I'm sending love to all of you!
What I like to do at the moment: eat apples, watch the blue sky, spread love, listen to happy music, daydream, oversleep in the mornings, learn hiragana (started about a week ago), hope for better days, try not to swear all the time (meillä on kavereiden kaa suklaapatukasta veto, eka joka sanoo v-sanan tarjoaa)...
- What if I dyed my hair red? I'm serious, it would be cool. Have to do some thinking.
What I've been doing today: 1) going though my sideboard's stuff and I found some funny things 2) reading almost every news there are about Japan's situation 3) wondering if that oldie film camera still would work
I still can't believe what has happened - Japan has moved 2,4 meters, during this week there have been 227 over five-magnitude earthquakes, thousands of people are missing, 300 000 people evacuated and the list goes on. Horrible things, but life must go on and I was surprised but happy when I heard that the situation in Tokyo has almost cleared and people have continued on their daily things. Meanwhile in other areas things aren't anything like that though. I'm sad that I can't do as much as I'd want to do for helping people.
A great song I found on 「 ssxsmile 」. Have a good weekend!
Today I got back from scool and complained about the bad weather and other stupid stuff but in the minute I got online the news were everywhere. Because I've never experienced an earthquake I don't know what it is like but at least I know that it's far from funny. I can't really put I'm thinking down to words, but my thoughts are with you. ♡
++ Thankfully we all can do something to help people in danger. For an example Lady Gaga has designed a Japan Earthquake Relief Wristband and all proceeds go direclty to Japan relief efforts. We can also donate money to Red Cross and wish for the best. All help is needed there.
My new carpet arrived today and I quickly made space for it and then spent time just laying on it. I've wanted a new carpet for like forever so this is like my dreams have come true. Super happy. Yesterday I got some Finnish poetry from library, and I have to choose one of them and make a poetry portfolio thingy. I was really tired when I visited the library and didn't aclually pay attention to what I took, so hopefully they're at least readable poems. Thank god it's friday tomorrow!
01 When I get back from school it's not dark! Actually at the moment it's almost 6pm and it's quite bright outside. The best thing about summer. 02Super cheap plimsolls, espesially in white. I'm planning to buy a pair for summer and use them as much as possible and then when it's fall again I can see all the best summer memories when I look at the shoes. It doesn't matter if they get all muddy and ugly, because that's kinda the point. 03 My converse bag, I bought it 4 years ago and it's still.. well, usable. But its condition is far from good. I was on sixth grade when I got it and didn't know anyone who had that kind of bag (now everyone has one) AND it matched with my black converse shoes. I was so cool, lol. 04This video, I haven't laughed this much in a long time.
And, Happy Women's Day! Hyvää naistenpäivää kaikille :)
Just a quick post because I should be doing my homework (especially maths) and not sitting in front of the computer screen. But yeah, I'm a little obsessed with that exact Crystal Castles t-shirt and I've desperately been looking for one. It'll be super expensive if I order it from their webstore, so I'll keep my eye on ebay. Isn't that like the coolest shirt ever?
Today has been a surprisingly beautiful day - sunny and quite warm too, and we decided to walk to our granny's place. She had cooked a meal for us and it was great to visit her after a while. I also fell in love with that bread, I maybe ate a couple slices. Everybody knows how I love white bread, but you just can't hate it, can you? Tomorrow's also a special day because we're selebrating Shrove Sunday, which means that there's 7 weeks 'til Easter. We're probably going to do it the traditional way and eat shrove buns and pea soup (eww). The happiness continues on Tuesday when it's Shrove Tuesday, yay.
I haven't said this yet, but for me the first day of March means the first day of spring. Even though I haven't been in a ~springy, flirty & happy~ mood, I've been a little happier than I used to be. I'm planning to save money (don't laugh, I can do it!!) for spring and summer clothes and other stuff, fix my bicycle with my dad and paint it too, dye my hair and print loads of photos and do something cool with them. I've been thinking about painting my bike for a while and what colour it'll be, and at the moment I'd really like a bright yellow colour. Sounds a little silly but it'd be sooo cool! Any other colour suggestions? Now I'll continue doing nothing, why when I'm alone it seems that everybody else is having fun without me?
Today I bought lots of candy and now I'm planning to lay on my bed and - well, just that. If I wasn't here at my dad's place I would have gone to our school's party where everybody is tonight, but I just have to party with my laptop. I've found many blogs written by exchange students and it's so exciting to follow their lifes abroad. I'm also very happy about 1) my biology grade, because I got the highest possible, YAY 2) weekend 3) PMMP's music. Have a great weekend!
On monday I bought these yummy chocolate cookies which are meant to be the best when dipped into milk. Well, that's what I did and I must say that they were so good. Because of the milk the mud cake filling wasn't too sweet but just the way it should be. I really recommend these to all of you who live in Finland!
My week hasn't really begun the best way possible, but I'm going to survive. I'm really disappointed to my maths grade and I'll probably redo the test next year or something. The test was just too difficult. And I also almost failed my Swedish word test. Oh well, I can't be perfect all the time. Now I'm going to go to theatre, have a nice week sweeties!
PS. Thank you for your lovely comments and e-mails, I'm so grateful and they really made my day!
I am a boy who is constantly changing his opinion on things but who always has an opinion. I'm 17 years old and hoping to be ten years more or less. I'm just a typical teenager whose dream is to be something else, somewhere else. I live in Finland but hopefully in five years I'll be living my dream in the biggest city of the world. My computer is my best friend, my camera my lover. And my blog is the place where I share the boring moments of my life.
