EXAM WEEK

A perfect excuse to eat, eat, eat, because everybody knows that you can't study when you're hungry. Today I baked these chocolate chip cookies and ate too much cookie dough but I have English test tomorrow so it's all right... During the exam week I also like to go jogging because after I've been reading the school books for hours the open air feels so goood! On thursday we have no school because it's some kind of a feast day or something, the only thing I care about is the long sleep I'm going to get that night.

Has any of you visited Sea Life? Is it worth the 15 euros? It seems so interesting and cool and I love that kind of places.

This weekend we visited our summer cottage and I wasn't able to post anything, but I'm back! I was pretty bored at times and all I could do was photographing, so... I took many photos. Most of them are of my sister or just some random plants, so not too interesting, but I like some of them though. Today I'm gonna lay in my bed and study religion, not my favourite way to spend an evening but I just have to do so. Only 4 days of school left, oh my! And btw, thanks Elina for mentioning my blog ♥

SEATTLE LATTE

In Finland we don't have any Starbucks cafes so it's a huge event when something with their logo is available in our stores. These new ice lattes are sooo delicious (or at least this one), I bought Seattle latte yesterday and totally fell in love with it. I still haven't tasted the Caramel latte but I will soon, they're just a little expensive and I'm trying to avoid wasting too much money on them. Even though we have great cafes in Finland it would be fun if we had a Starbucks behind every corner - but on the other hand I like to support my own city's smaller cafes. If you ever come to Pori I recommend Cafe Wikholm's salads, they cost quite a lot but in my opinion they're worth it! And the atmosphere of Ice Cream House is so lovely, no wonder it's so popular. Actually writing this made me love my little home town a little more.

Do you prefer small companies or big corporations?

Wearing something that isn't black, white or grey feels always a bit weird to me but I decided to give this red shirt a try. I'm not sure how to wear it because red is red -  I don't know how to describe it. But maybe lighter colours are better for me, or at least I feel more comfortable with them. While taking these photos I realized how much I need a friend to take all these photos, sigh.

This little bird flew to our garden and luckily I had my camera with me! I love birds even if they're a bit creepy and dirty, but look at him/her! The second photo is my favourite, just priceless! Now I'm trying to find somebody to go out with me, I'm so bored and I want to take photos! Plus the weather is amazing again and I want to buy strawberries since they're already selling Finnish ones. Tomorrow I don't have school so I could be out all night but probably I'll just end up watching tv and eating... That's not bad, though!

SO YEAH, I've been having a tiny crisis with myself, I keep finding parts of my face that I want to change and remove. I've been really annoyed with my chin which is lopsided - the left part is lower than the right. It cannot be seen in the photos because I edit it or then I just inherently hide it somehow. It makes me a bit sad that I'm too scared to show you an unedited photo with all the things I hate and I should just try to learn to live with my face because I can't take it off even though I wanted to.


Tomorrow is the last actual school day and it feels so weird! And hey, on 9th of June this blog is going to turn 3 years!! I wish I could arrange something cool for you, but we'll see what is going to happen... I've been having so much fun for these years and I still haven't got bored with blogging. Plus your comments are really the light of my life, the feeling when I get them is the best.

Mistä lähti idea bloggaamiseen? No mun ihan ekaan blogiin (joka oli mun silloisella omalla domainilla) idea lähti muiden blogeista, kun ne vaikutti niin kivoilta. Sen kuoltua kirjoittelin jonkin aikaa livejournaliin, koska siellä oli paljon porukkaa yhdelta foorumilta. Mut tämän blogin ideasta kunnia suotakoon Colour me!:lle, joka oli ensimmäinen muoti/tyyliblogi, jota luin. Parin viikon päästä sen löytämisestä pistin sitten omani pystyyn!
Mistä olet oppinut ottamaan aina-niin-hyvännäköisiä ja selkeitä sekä monipuolisia valokuvia? Itse en ehkä ihan tollaisilla sanoilla kuvailis mun kuvia mutta... Kamera on lähes aina mukana, koska tilaisuus voi tulla milloin vaan, photoshopilla saa kaikkia virheitä ym. korjailtua ja... No mulle on ainakin kehittynyt melko vakaa kuvauskäsi, ja saan nykyään helposti tärähtämättömiä kuvia 1/4 valotusajalla, jee! Jos vähän paremman objektiivin saisi hankittua, niin toi ongelma kyllä häipyisi.
Lempitiesi tai -katusi? No oma kotikatu on tietysti ihan kiva, mutta jos katujen nimistä puhutaan, niin mun mielestä olis ihanaa asua Tuulikylässä täällä Porissa, koska siellä teiden nimet ovat maailman kivoimpia. Esimerkiksi Sadepilventie on yksi mun ykköslemppareista! ♥
Kiinnostaako politiikka? No vähän, muttei kuitenkaan kamalasti. Kyllä mä aion äänestää kun äänioikeuden saan, mutta en ole esimerkiksi mitenkään kiinnostunut politiikkaan muuten mukaan lähtemisestä.
Pidätkö Helsingistä? Tykkään kovasti, vaikka Tampere onkin Suomen kaupungeista mun suosikki. Helsingissä on kuitenkin melkolailla kaikkea, ja siellä on aina tosi kiva käydä. Tänäkin kesänä ainakin yksi reissu Hesaan tiedossa, en jaksaisi enää odottaa pidempään.
Missä haluaisit asua? Lukion ja armeijan käytyäni tarkoitus olisi lähteä ulkomaille opiskelemaan, joten oikeastaan kaikkialla muualla paitsi Suomessa. Jossain päin Aasiaa haluan asua jossain elämänvaiheessa, sekä esimerkiksi Briteissä ja Tanskassa. Mutta ehkä eniten haluaisin muuttaa Japaniin, jokin siinä vaan viehättää enemmän kuin muissa.

Are you going to get married, get kids and big house and a dog? Well, I'd like to get married and get kids and a dog, but the big house isn't an essential. I could consider adoption because there are so many children without loving parents, and I don't want a big house in the countryside because I want to live in a city center.
What do you think about gay/lesbian ppl? They're just like everybody else. I think we shouldn't divide people like that, it's just nonsense. To me there aren't srtaight/gay/lesbian/bisexual people, there are just people.
Should gays/lesbians get rights to get married? In my opinion, yes. I think everybody should be able to get married since it's such an important thing for most of people.

Today I hung out with my friend and there was a thing that followed us everywhere we went. Peace signs. They were literally everywhere - I saw peace bracelets, peace necklaces, peace candies, peace ice cream, everything! And I actually pretty much liked it. Maybe peace isn't possible in this world, at least immediately, but I think we all should even try. Nothing breaks my heart like hearing bad news about wars and innocent people that have died.

Some crazy-ass people have announced that tomorrow the world is going to end. I'm feeling a little sceptic about and I honestly think that no matter if apocalypse is going to come tomorrow or next week or after million years, it's just something that we can't prevent. But the ecological catasthrophe is another thing and we can do lots of things to help the environment. In my opinion, if the God or the gods or the Finnish superman Väinämöinen wants to blow up this tiny blue planet, it's just going to happen.

MY CURRENT OBSESSION: 49일

Sometimes the most random things inspire me and at the moment it has been a South Korean drama called 49 Days. In addition to the great storyline I find the styles of the characters very nice. Especially the scheduler's clothes have been great, here are some examples!

[01] Look at the sneakers he's wearing! That was the first thought when I watched this scene. They have been designed by the amazing Jeremy Scott who's also behind the JS Wings sneakers which I adore. Take a closer look of the shoes here.

[02] I think you can't go wrong with a cognac-coloured leather jacket, skinny jeans and sneakers. When I'm a bit older I'm going to buy a good-quality leather jacket that I'm going to use until I'm old and wrinkled. In my opinion well-treated leather gets just more and more beautiful when it gets older.

[03] The outfit and the scene are so funny, and the hairband is actually pretty cool. I'm not too sure if I'd look good in a hippie look, but anyways... I really love the café they have here, it makes me want to go out for a cup of coffee!

[04] Another look with a perfect leather jacket. The funny part of this outfit is the rolled trouser legs and patterned socks. I like rolled legs and sleeves and definitely would like to try something like this. Even though I'd maybe feel a bit uncomfortable because I like my trousers almost too long.

Today I realized that I should be more careful when browsing the internet - I accidentally read a spoiler and now I'm pretty schoked. But I really recommend this drama, when I have more time I'm going to watch the rest of the episodes. Now I'm going to study for my music test, laters!

En halunnut hakea aihetta liian kaukaa ja löysinkin heti yhden selatessani tämän päivän posteja. Maailmassa ei ole montaa samankaltaista asiaa kuin postin saaminen, etenkin jos se on tullut ulkomailta asti. Tänään me satiin kortti Istanbulista pienen tekstinpätkän kera parilta sukulaiselta.

On a day like this when I don't feel like smiling at all the best idea is to think about what makes me smile. I didn't want to overthink this and chose the thing that came up to my mind at first - when I was going through today's posts. There aren't many things like getting mail and especially getting letters and cards from other countries, I think I have told that before. Today we received a postcard from Istanbul with a little message written bt two of our relatives.

I promise these are the last photos of birchs' leaves, but the spring is maybe the most beautiful season here, so I can't resist photographing them. I'm feeling quite springy at the moment - happy but stressed like every spring. At school we were talking about our next year studies and upcoming matriculation examinations which made me a little concerned because A) I don't know what I should study for the finals B) I wouldn't call my future bright or anything like that. I'm a little interested in journalism and media & medicine, but I should decide soon.

But that's enough of school, it's nearly the end of this semester after all! My friend won 4 tickets to Linnanmäki amusement park which means that I'm going to Helsinki next month! I'm super duper excited but I must save some money again. There are so many shops in Helsinki that I want to visit because - of course - we're going to do some shopping too! I'm so looking forward to going to Weekday which I haven't visited yet. Though I prefer Tampere to Helsinki, it's nice to visit the capital city too.

GOOD MORNING

Joe Hisaishi - Howl's moving castle

There aren't many other as good feelings as sleeping in your fresh bed sheets. I finally changed to these nice beige ones which I love. Because I sleep here at my dad's place only rarely my bed gets easily dusty and because of my allergy that isn't a good thing. So no matter how often I change the sheets, they first night with them is the best. My sister made me breakfast yesterday which included Turkish yoghurt, maca powder, dried mulberries, goji berries and honey. I didn't really like the berries that much... But the yoghurt part was jolly good! Maybe I could eat a little healthier food for breakfast sometimes, not just cereal and toast. Finnish strawberries and blueberries would be rather delicious with fat-free natural yoghurt. Any suggestions for healthy, low-fat and tasty breakfasts?

SUGAR RUSH

Just quickly posting my today's outfit because my yesterday's post was deleted! (I'm furious...) Hopefully the staff of blogger will get the problems solved soon because I'm going to miss my donut post. Soon we're going to watch a movie, I hope you have a great evening too! And hey, I added that outfit to lookbook where you can hype or comment it.

food is the worst enemy and the best friend

~ Baking with Arttu - three simple steps ~

1) Find something that looks good from your nearest supermarket's frozen food section.

My friends and family know that I love baking, but sometimes I don't have enough energy to do all by myself. I'm not too narrow-minded with these kinds of products and decided to try to make raspberry-filled donuts without really baking them! They should at least look cute because who could hate heart-shaped stuff? I thought so too.

2) While waiting the oven to heat up fetch the most essential ingredient - sugar. White sugar is the best for this kind of a situation - I'm not going to pretend that I eat only the healthy brown-ish hippie sugar today.

I partly agree with people who say that they only bake with white flour, white sugar and huge amounts of butter but at the same time I don't mind if there's only margarine in our fridge when I'm craving for muffins - I think it's just good to make it a bit healthier sometimes and I really can't taste a difference when the pastry is made with butter or margarine. This has been a hugely popular topic and discussed in our local newspaper but in my opinion it's just a storm in a tea-kettle.

3) After your babies have visited the oven for only 5 minutes they're ready to get sugared. Don't mind the deformations - just enjoy!

When I saw my perfectly gold-coloured donuts I had to eat one first and then set up things for this harmonic picture. I really liked them and couldn't imagine that they were made while I was reading my mom's health magazine, but they were. So the lesson to be learned is: try something new without being suspicious about it! Comments? Do you always bake everything yourself or do you accept almost-ready-to-eat products?

Today has been probably the most beautiful day of the spring. It has been very hot but I've liked it so far. We played Finnish baseball again and it was great fun even though I was exhausted after that. After school I took some photos, collected more quotes and played with photoshop - results can be seen above. I've also been thinking that should I try to learn how to eat food the Asian way - with chopsticks, I mean. Because if I ever travel there I want to be able to eat the food properly, like they do. It looks so easy in movies, but I'm sure that it's not that simple...

Now when the school's almost over I've been thinking about what I want to do when I'm older and I realized that I'm still as lost as I was a year ago. I know that I have two years of high school left but it seems that almost everybody else has planned their futures already. All I know is that I want to get out of Finland and live abroad, maybe study abroad and then come back here when I feel that I've seen the world enough.

By the way, the song up there is Lady Gaga's newest single called The Edge of Glory - another masterpiece made by the mother monster. Now I'll continue reading Swedish blogs, I'm trying to not forget the language because I don't have it at school at the moment. And you guys, tell me did you like the photos?

My boring outfit today. I should be doing my homework at the moment, but I've been listening to caramelldansen, Madonnas first album and my family shouting because they're watching an ice hockey game (it's so annoying 'cause I don't really give a fuck about ice hockey). I'm currently reading Madonna's biography which made me want to listen to her old songs. I think she's such an interesting person especially because she has achieved so much and begun her career with only ambition and power, not any big companies and investors behind her back. Now I'm going to watch my new favourite TV show 49일, I think I can do the homework later!

PS, I just found out that this same typo is on Spotify too... This can't be right, huh?

BBQ BBQ BBQ

Yesterday me and some of my friends went to one friend's place to "barbeque" with our disposable grill which worked pretty good! I didn't eat sausages but I had a corn even though I couldn't eat it properly... Well, at least I could ate peanuts and I sure did eat them a lot, they're just so good! Cashews and honey-roasted peanuts are my favourites. Yummy! Have you already barbequed this year? And send me more questions here, please!

JUDAS MUSIC VIDEO

A few days ago Lady Gaga published her newest music video for Judas and for me this was really love at the first sight. In addition to my love to the song I adore the video and all the allegories and references to the Bible. The video had made some people angry but I think it's just great but I am pretty permissive though. What do you think? Do you accept the usage of religious symbolism in pop culture?
